The RDS Smash Hit, Van Gogh Dublin to return to the capital, this time as Dream Point After Dark

The team behind Van Gogh Dublin: An Immersive Journey at the RDS have announced that the blockbuster digital art show is returning to Dublin, this time as Dream Point After Dark, an adults-only evening experience at Dream Point in Point Square, Dublin Docklands.

Running for a limited Christmas run from December 19th 2025, to January 4th 2026, Dream Point After Dark will allow visitors to experience Dream Point’s multi-room immersive playground without the daytime crowds, with the much-loved Van Gogh show now playing in the venue’s projection space as the centrepiece of the evening.

From 20,000 sq ft at the RDS to an intimate, smaller ‘after dark’ Van Gogh immersive experience at Dream Point.

When Van Gogh Dublin: An Immersive Journey premiered in the Shelbourne Hall at the RDS in summer 2022, it drew front-page photographs, broadcast coverage and rave reviews across Irish media.

Radio and print called it “a 360-degree immersive journey” and “more than worth the hype”, predicting it would be “one of the summer’s most popular shows” – and they were right, with huge visitor numbers across its run (over 85,000 tickets sold).

Now, Irish brothers Dan and John Gleeson, the creators of both the original RDS Van Gogh Dublin and now Dublin’s new Dream Point Experience, are bringing the acclaimed Van Gogh content back to the city, adapted for Dream Point’s projection room as part of a new adults-only night-time experience.

“Van Gogh Dublin was one of those rare shows people still talk to us about years later,” says Dan Gleeson, Co-Founder of Theatre of Light and Dream Point. “We’re excited to bring it back to Dublin in a new way, a more intimate, adults-only evening where you can wander Dream Point’s rooms without the daytime chaos, then sink into the Van Gogh show with a drink in hand.”

What is Dream Point After Dark?

On selected evenings between December 19th and January 4th, Dream Point will reopen after regular hours for adults-only sessions, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Each ticket for Dream Point After Dark includes:

The Van Gogh content, which uses floor-to-ceiling projections, rich soundscapes and digital animation to immerse visitors in iconic works such as Starry Night and Sunflowers, has been carefully re-adapted to work within Dream Point’s Projection Room, which normally hosts the venue’s dinosaur immersive show.

“In the RDS we had scale, in Dream Point we have atmosphere,”
says John Gleeson, Co-Founder of Dream Point. “Guests can drift through glowing corridors, balloon-filled rooms and surreal sets before stepping into Van Gogh’s world. It feels like a night out as much as an exhibition. For any art or experience fans, you’re going to love this. We also think it’s going to make one of Dublin’s best date nights!”

Dream Point After Dark will run nightly from December 19th 2025 to January 4th 2026.

To encourage early booking, an introductory early-bird offer of 20% off is running Dec 15th – 17th at  €16.72 per ticket (inclusive of booking fees) available now using the discount code VANGOGH20 at checkout. From Dec 18th onwards, tickets will be set at €20.90 per person (inclusive of fees) and available on Dream Point’s website here: dreampointexperience.ie

Today Announced: Dream Point Launch New Ireland-First Advanced VR Motion Chairs

Dream Point’s popular daytime sessions for families, school groups and content creators will continue as normal in the run-up to and throughout Christmas, including the venue’s hit dinosaur immersive show and Ireland’s largest ball pit.

Separately, from Monday Dec 22nd onwards, the venue will also debut a new multisensory VR cinema experience, using award-winning motion VR chairs and content for both children and adults. They are award-winning motion VR pods that tilt, vibrate and even blow air in time with the film, turning a simple sit-down into a full-body, cinematic ride. With separate showstopper content for kids and adults, from a Madagascar director’s family adventure to a National Geographic-approved King Tut story, they give every visit to Dream Point a brand-new “wow” moment at the end.

These reactions, along with front-page images in The Irish Times, The Irish Examiner and more, helped cement Van Gogh Dublin as one of the most talked-about cultural events of 2022, a legacy the Gleeson brothers are now building on with Dream Point After Dark.
